What do defense customers require from a plastic component?
A plain bearing in a vehicle drivetrain, a housing for communications equipment, PTFE gaskets, or sealing sleeves in systems that operate outdoors. These are just a few examples of defense components in high demand, and they all have one thing in common: failure is not an option under any circumstances. For portable equipment, every gram of weight counts. For systems in humid or chemically harsh environments, corrosion resistance is simply more practical than intensive maintenance.
Materials for demanding applications in the defense industry
ANKRO machines a variety of high-performance plastics. PTFE and PVDF are naturally chemically resistant and withstand harsh environments. POM has low friction and high wear resistance, making it suitable for moving parts that require minimal maintenance. PEEK is in the highest performance category: temperature-resistant, mechanically strong, and stable under load.
